Zinc-aluminum alloy wires, particularly for the durable corrosion protection of steel in the maritime sector ZnAl alloy wires are manufactured from SHG zinc (99.995% Conforming to IS-12447, DIN 14919:2001,EN 1179 Z1, ASTM B833-06 ) and High Purity aluminum Conforming to EN 576, ISO 209-1:2007, EN 573-3:2009, ASTM B833-06 ) and provide even more corrosion protection than pure zinc wires with lower overspray.

SCOPE:

This Specification covers manufacturing of 85/15 (Zn/Al) Spray wire used for arc and flame spraying and are well-known for its excellent quality.

The 85/15 Zn/Al wires are produced to meet requirements as accordance to ISO 14919

GENERAL:

The 85/15 Zn/Al wires are manufactured from virgin S.H.G Zinc and Aluminum Ingots by the process which ensures that the material meets requirement of the sprecification. The manufactured wire should have a smooth finish, free from defects that may affect the feeding of the wire to the spray gun.

  • 85% ± 1% (weight) Electroplated Zinc With Purity of 99.99%
  • 15% ± 1% (weight) Aluminum With Purity of 99.7%

The 85/15 Zn/Zl Spray wires are used in arc and flame spray. The combination of 85/15 combines the galvanic protection properties of zinc sacrificing itself in preference to the steel. The Aluminum provides a passive barrier protection. Together, the zinc and aluminum provides an exvellent corrosion resistant sprayed coating.

The 85/15 Zn/Al wire are packed and supplied in

  • 55 - 66 Lbs. coil
  • 440 Lbs. paper fiber drum and 771 Lbs. Metal drums
Handling and storage:

The 85/15 An/Al wires to be stored in cool and dry place and should be kelpt away from direct water contact or heavy moisture area.

Shelf life:

The 85/15 Zn/Al wire has infinite shelf life.

We recommend best for use within one year of manufacturing to get best results in application.
