POWDER FLAME SPRAY GUN 5PM-II

The Metal Coat 5PM-II Powder Flame Spray Torch is a cost-effective and versatile tool designed for applying powder-based flame spray coatings. Ideal for applications such as surface repair, wear resistance, dimensional restoration, and corrosion protection, it features a built-in powder feed canister—eliminating the need for an external powder feeder like the one used in the 6PM-II system.

The 5PM-II is an excellent choice for businesses with occasional coating needs or those seeking an affordable, efficient solution. Suitable for general-purpose use, it supports a wide variety of coating materials, including self-fluxing alloys, ceramics, self-bonding materials, and standard materials like steel, stainless steel, bronze, aluminum-, and nickel-based alloys.

Designed for handheld use, the 5PM-II is lightweight and features a pistol-style grip to enhance operator comfort and safety. A tool post mount is available on request for resting the gun during workpiece changeover or for machine-mounted applications.

STANDARD ACCESSORIES

Air Jet Assembly
Ideal for enhanced workpiece cooling or producing denser, harder coatings, the Air Jet Assembly attaches to the front of the gun and injects high-velocity air into the spray stream. The cooling tubes are adjustable to focus airflow on the spray stream or directly on the workpiece.

Vibrator
For fine or poor-flowing powders, an optional vibrator is available for the 5PM gun. It operates on single-phase 220V AC or 110V AC.

Extension Nozzles
Extension nozzles are available in 1-foot, 2-foot, and 3-foot lengths, allowing the 5PM-II to coat internal bores and recessed surfaces effectively.

PROPERTIES OF COATING POWDERS

Flame spraying transforms the material into a new and distinct form, which is why the coating quality is directly influenced by the quality of the powder used. Even minor changes in powder chemistry can significantly impact the final coating’s characteristics. Additionally, the particle size distribution plays a crucial role in determining the coating’s density and porosity. Our powders are manufactured to meet strict standards for chemical composition, particle shape and size, flow rate, and purity.
